Today is a great day, not only did our featured stories come out in Brides Magazine New York, the Associate Editor, Lauren Matthews Blogged about our spring bouquet and a centerpiece we created for a bridal show.

Hard Rock Hotel Vegas - Rock and Roll Centerpiece, Style story

Here is our first photo from a Brides Magazine photo shoot we did for their Spring/ Summer issue.

The inspiration for the centerpiece was The Hard Rock Hotel, Vegas. The colors they wanted us to use were shades of red, grey and black. We have 3 centerpieces and a Bouquet featured in the magazine as well as on line. These are the first photos I am sharing of this issue on our Blog. The New York issue comes out on February 22nd.

Photo Shoot - Post Round Hill House Bridal Show

Ever wonder what we do once we get our flowers back from an event?

Well, we redesign floral arrangements and stage photo shoots. This is extremely important to us.

It allows us to create new designs, amp up old ones and do samples for all of your upcoming weddings.

This gives us more control of the environment and the work we do. When we create designs for a wedding or event, we collaborate with our clients.We do what they want, while still putting ourselves in the work.

When we set up a shoot, we use our vision. It’s good for all of you to see all transformations.

We setup two stages for our shoot on two different days.

The first set of photos was directly taken from our Round Hill Bridal Show. We added flowers and manipulated the work. It was a snowy day, giving us a great opportunity to shoot in the snow. It was so magical. I love how the photos turned out. It feels like a touch of spring, which made me so happy.

The first Bouquet is another example of a “Woodland” Bouquet. We used lots of Moss, Dusty Miller, Raspberries, light pink Wax flower, Scented Geranium, Blueberries, Hops, green Brunia, Galax leaves, Succulents, brown feathers, Huckleberry and Ivy. What is so interesting is how we wrapped the Bouquet in Grapevine and Ivy.

The second Bouquet is a bit of spring. It had yellow Freesia, white Stock, Dusty Miller, Jasmine vines, Raspberries, green Brunia, pink Lisianthus, Scented Geranium, peach Ranunculus, pink Wax flower, Quicksand Roses, peach Tulips, Succulents and white Calla Lilies. I am so excited about the ribbon I found. It is actually felt wool yarn.

Our companion Boutonnière had yellow Freesia, Dusty Miller, and Raspberries, tied with wool yarn.

I love the idea of mixing vintage and modern. For the concrete square arrangement we used “Liberty of London” print and twine.

The flowers and colors were a beautiful mix of peach Garden Roses, Quicksand Roses, Ivy, Dusty Miller, white Calla Lilies, Lilies, peach Ranunculus, Scented Geranium, Vibernum, pink Stock, pink Wax flower, pink Tulips, and Air plants.

We redesigned the raw cork bark from the Round Hill event. Adding more flowers. I love this look, for its natural beauty and diverse designs. We can also get smaller ones.

The cork stump comes in several sizes. The one we used for an example at Round Hill and our photo shoot is a large one. We used Moss, green Brunia, Succulents, Roses, Air Plants, Italian Ruscus, Ivy, white Stock, Scented Geranium, yellow Freesia, Lilies, Raspberries, and Calla Lilies.

We took a handmade free form cement piece and transformed it using Air Plants, bleached Manzanita branch, Ivy, Lisianthus, Succulents, Moss and Mushrooms.

For the photo shoot, we used a low concrete square. We wanted to use it for the Bridal show but could not fit it on the table.

We used a piece of Driftwood for its sculptural look, several types of Air Plants. Pink Lisianthus, Succulents, green Brunia, Moss, Jasmine vine to mimic the Driftwood, Mushrooms, yellow Freesia, and shards of Rocks.

Continuing a “Woodland” look, we reconfigured the woodland Bouquet into a rustic wood box. We used the same cast of characters, Huckleberry, Blueberries, Wax flowers, Succulents, Lisianthus, Grapevine, Tulip innards, Roses, Dusty Miller, Freesia, and Moss.

Continuing our photo shoot, I asked Steve to keep redesigning looks. We have a large wood bowl using the same flowers.

Lastly, we took a large bubble Bowl, mossed the bottom, and used rock shards, pink Lisianthus, Succulents, Brunia, Mushrooms and Orchid greens and roots.

This bubble bowl can be used with any design from minimalist, Terrarium to full floral.

Bridal Show at Round Hill House

At the end of January, we set up a table display for a Round Hill House Bridal show. Every year they set up a tasting where couples can come to meet with vendors, taste the food, and discuss their upcoming wedding. We think it is a good opportunity for Brides to see our work first hand before the season starts. Peter at Round Hill had asked us to set up two floral pieces for his Buffet tables. After the tasting before the guest walked into the room, Steve moved them to our table. We had a lot of designs setup and wish we had a larger one.

Because we know the trends, we designed several styles.

We used a raw cork stump, raw cork bark, a large bubble bowl, a concrete square wrapped with Liberty of London print fabric for a Vintage/ Modern look, 3 sets of rusted cans with Liberty of London print wrapped with twine, cement free form (from the Buffet) and a large Jasmine plant with Manzanita branch, hanging votives, moss and Orchids (from the Buffet).

We brought two styles of Bouquets and a matching Boutonnière. See next post for details.

We had a lot of fun meeting everyone and look forward to a successful season.

This wedding was at Clermont Historic Site, which is a Livingston home on the Hudson River near Tivoli.
This Bride is a singer/Vocalist and her Husband is an artist. We were able to be very creative with the bouquets and centerpieces.

The Bride wanted a lot of Hanging Amaranthus in her bouquets so it created and interesting look.
For the Brides Bouquet we used green Hanging Amaranthus, green Hypericum Berries, Hosta Leaves, Jade Roses, ivory Stock, defoliated Sunflowers, white Veronica, white Dendrobium Orchids, and Casablanca Lilies.

The Bridal party had green Cymbidium and Dendrobium Orchids, Jade Roses, dark rust Sunflowers and James Story Orchids.

Down the aisle, we had Teddy bear Sunflowers on our wrought iron candelabras

For the Reception, we alternated sculptural style table arrangements.

We used low glass dishes with Sunflower buds, Belles of Ireland, green Dendrobium Orchids, red Dahlias, burgundy Calla Lilies, Kiwi branch, and moss.

For the other set of tables we used a low metal dish with Manzanita branches, Sunflowers, Belles of Ireland, James Story Orchids, red Dahlia’s, burgundy Calla Lilies, and green Dendrobium Orchids.

I am posting a photo of the Registration table before it was completed. We used textured moss, Teddy Bear Sunflowers and Mushrooms to create a woodland feel.

The Buffet arrangement was in a tall glass. We used James Story Orchids, rust colored Sunflowers, and green Hanging Amaranthus.

The Bar arrangement had white Dendrobium Orchids, burgundy Calla Lilies, Belles of Ireland with moss and Sunflowers submerged in water.

Julie and David - Fall Wedding

This Buttermilk Falls Wedding took place the first week of November, so we had to do the ceremony under a tent. The couple was very nice; the Bride is a Dog trainer so that had their cute little Pug in the wedding party. I used her bouquet as the opening photos of this Blog. I love the colors and textures. Especially the contrast of green and dark reds/ burgundy. These photos were taken by Juliana Thomas.

In the Bridal party Bouquets, we had green Spider Mums, Seeded Eucalyptus, Mango and burgundy Calla Lilies, red Mokara Orchids, Rosemary, Black Baccara Roses, and ivory Stock.

The Chuppah we used was birch; we covered it with green Hanging Amaranthus, branches, garlands, red James Story Orchids, and greens. We also used dried leaves down the aisle.

In the cocktail tent, we had a large arrangement in a copper bowl. We used Italian Ruscus, Curly Willow, James Story Orchids, Cat Tail, Calla Lilies, green Spider Mums, and green Hanging Amaranthus.

The cocktail tables were in small frosted square glass. We had mango and wine colored Calla Lilies, green Spider Mums, Italian Ruscus, James Story Orchids and burgundy Hypericum Berries.

For all the tables we used dark stained wooden crates. Inside, we used Terra Cotta potted Succulents, green Spider Mums, James Story Orchids, Italian Ruscus, Mango Calla Lilies, green Hanging Amaranthus, and Kiwi Vine.

New Leaf Cafe in NYC - Summer

This wedding was during the summer our daughter Scarlett was born. The ceremony took place at Fort Tryon Park and the reception was held at The New Leaf café. It was interesting to see photos of our Chuppah at a public NYC park. This area is nice because it is still in Manhattan but in a little natural oasis. For the ceremony, Steve used our handmade wrought iron Chuppah with vines, a summer Lemon Leaf, and Seeded Eucalyptus garland, Belles of Ireland, white Delphinium, Lilies, Orchids, Hanging Amaranthus, and Ivy.

The Brides bouquet had white Dahlias white mini Calla Lilies, green Spider Mums, white Stock, Stars of Bethlehem, white Lisianthus, white Veronica, Belles of Ireland, white Astilbe, pale yellow Ranunculus, white Cymbidium Orchids, white Godetia, ivory Roses, and white Casablanca Lilies. The Brides Maid bouquets had ivory Stock, green Cymbidium, and more ivory Roses.

The tables centerpieces were in mossed wooden crates with white Hydrangea, ivory Roses, white Stock, green Spider Mums, green Cymbidium Orchids, pale green Roses, green/white Kale, green Hypericum berries, Italian Ruscus, and pale yellow Dahlias.

We worked with a nice wedding planner named is Anh Sobo of Hudson Valley Events.

Enchanted Forest Themed Wedding at Shadow Lawn

Now this wedding we will never forget. The couple had us do their rehearsal dinner and wedding at Shadow lawn in High Falls. The Rehearsal dinner was on July 4th and the wedding July 5th, 2008. This was the first wedding we did with an “Enchanted Forest “theme. The budget was great, we had been working closely with their wedding planner Tammy Baldwin and the couple throughout the year, and as always, I love to be involved in the creative process. The lighting was amazing with a forest projected all over the tent by John and Rita Carver from Bear Fly Designs http://www.bearflydesigns.com/gallery.html.

There were trees by the tent poles, moss, branches, stumps, mushrooms, ferns etc...

Everything was so pretty and perfect. Steve even designed and made this amazing stone path leading up the ceremony area by a stream and the gorgeous birch Chuppah. I believe there were almost two tons of rocks.

The reason why this wedding is so unforgettable is the fact that I gave birth in the middle of it.

I went into labor the day before their Rehearsal dinner and gave birth on July 4th at 8:10 pm right before the fireworks. Steve went back and forth between the hospital and wedding, even setting up and breaking down before and after our daughter Scarlett Lily was born. All the vendors seemed to know but I do not think the couple did. This will be a great story to tell future generations, will we ever let her live this down?

The Brides Bouquet had white Gerbera daisies, Seeded Eucalyptus, green and yellow Roses, green Cymbidium Orchids, white Casablanca Lilies, pale yellow Stock, Tweedia, Garlic Scapes, green Button Mums, Muscari, Dusty Miller, Lisianthus, and Fern.

The Groom’s Boutonnière had Button Mums, Lisianthus, Muscari, and Dusty Miller.

We alternated high and low Mercury Glass with green Spider Mums, Hosta Leaves, Ferns, Seeded Eucalyptus, Lisianthus, Dusty Miller, Roses, Stock, and Calla Lilies. There is only one or tow photos of the table detail.

The desert table was nice. Covered with Moss, Mushrooms, bark, stumps. Maxine made the cake from Bittersweet bakers. She is probably the best in the Hudson Valley. Check her out at: http://www.maxinescatering.com/index.html

Steve did this beautiful large floral display in Mercury Glass. He used yellow and green Roses, Belles of Ireland, Casablanca Lilies, white Delphinium, green Spider Mums, Seeded Eucalyptus, and Hanging Amaranthus.

Fall Wedding at private home

This was a beautiful October Wedding at the family’s home in Bronxville NY. The look was that of a garden party. We had the opportunity to do flowers inside and outside of the house.
I am mixing my photos with the couples photographer's photos. She was not only really good, she was really sweet. He name is Jocelyn Filley - http://www.filleyphotography.com/

I especially loved these bouquets that were both pretty and vibrant.
For the Bride, we used Mango, dark burgundy and wine colored Calla Lilies, burgundy and rust Dahlia’s, orange Gerbera Daisies, dark red and caramel Roses, and burgundy Hydrangea.

The Brides two sitters were the Maids of Honor. Their bouquets have burgundy, wine colored Calla Lilies, rust Ranunculus, rust, and dark red Roses, purple Veronica and dark blue Delphinium. I thought the contrast of red and blue was quite striking.

Inside the house, we had little budvases climbing up the staircase with Roses, Dahlia’s, Jasmine Vine, and Veronica.

Steve did a floral spray on the landing above the entry to the house.

We also had an arrangement in the dining room; it had Roses, Gerbera Daisies, Monk’s Hood, James Story Orchids, Ivy, and jasmine vine.

For The Sunroom we had a large blue ceramic urn with James Story Orchids, Ivy, and Lemon Leaf. On a glass table, we had red Mokara Orchids surrounding a glass bowl with floating Gardenia, Ivy, and Tiger tail Orchids.

The ceremony Arch is one of my favorites. It was covered with garlands, vines, and flowers. Leading up to the Arch were two large Urns with large Delphinium.

The tables were long family style. We used Mercury Glass Urns, ceramic Urns and bud vases filled with Stock, Roses, Calla Lilies, Lilies, Dahlias, Delphinium, Italian Ruscus, Ivy, Lemon Leaf, and Orchids. In addition, at each place setting there was an Orchid.

Chic and simple Wedding at Shadow Lawn

This was a nice and simple chic wedding at Shadow Lawn. It was published in the “Real Weddings” section of Brides Magazine Fall 2009 issue.

The Bride was sweet and I loved her dress. The bouquet had all white Dahlias and Jasmine vines.

The groom’s Boutonnière had white Ranunculus, a Dahlia bud and Ivy.

The couple married at Clove Chapel in High Falls. I think it is the cutest little place. At either side of the chapel entrance were the couple’s initials. Steve made floral sprays with Roes, Hydrangea, Orchids, Gerbera daisies, Ivy, and Italian Ruscus. There were garlands on each banister.At the altar were large branches.

The Registration Table had a large arrangement with Casablanca Lilies and white Delphinium.

The Tables were family style in the barn. We used Ball jars with white stone, white Dahlia’s and Jasmine Vines. We also had small bud vases down each table with stones and white Gerbera Daisies.

Since Wedding season is over, I will be posting many weddings and events from our past. There are so many wonderful ones this will keep me busy.
I started my Blog before this past season and filled it with recent work. I am happy that I can focus and share other work with you.

I will be mixing up seasons as well as weddings and events. I hope that all of you interested in weddings will still take a peek at our events sections. A centerpiece is a centerpiece and you may miss some that inspire you.

Buttermilk Falls - September Wedding

What a sweet Bride. I never made it to the wedding at Buttermilk. I posted the Bouquet photos I took on a post titled Onteora and Buttermilk Bouquets. Here are the professional photos that the photographer took. Unfortunately, he did not take many of the tables and I know they were really nice. Steve set most of the tables there so I never got my stills.  This is a main reason why I like shooting my own photos. It ensures that we will get the photos we want. The couple is from Poland but has lived here for a while now.

The Brides Bouquet had white Stock, Quicksand Roses, pink Garden Roses, pale yellow Garden Roses, pink Lisianthus, Lady’s Mantle, Stars of Bethlehem, white Freesia, and pink Winterberry.

The Maid of Honor’s Bouquet was similar with the addition of white Dahlia’s, ivory Stock, white Winterberries, and Raspberry Godetia.

For the Brides Maids there were more peach and yellow Garden Roses, pink Dahlia’s, Astilbe, and peach Stock.

Many couples want a Chuppah frame even when they are not Jewish. It is nice to be under a four-post frame.

The tables were really pretty and elegant. We alternated tables. A low dish with flower buds, pillar candles and three small bubble bowls. Steve used pale yellow Tulips, pink Garden Roses, and Cymbidium Orchids.

The other tables had four candle stands of different heights. There were three floral clusters with Roses, Winterberry, Stock, Lisianthus, and Ivy.

Indian Style Wedding - Our last wedding of the season

The last wedding of the season was on November 20^th at Round Hill House. We would like to take the time to THANK all the couples, locations, and vendors who gave us their trust and support making this year the most joyous successful year to date. We especially want to thank Eileen, Amanda, and Craig for all of your loyalty and hard work, you have our hearts and gratitude, and we could not have done it without you.

The Bride was American and the Groom was Indian. This wedding was fun because we could use lots of color. For the reception, the Bride chose Teal table linen with gold runners. She was inspired by the colors of Peacock feathers.

For this ceremony, Steve created a beautiful “Mandaap” (an Indian ceremony arch). He used fabric from the Bride, garlands, flowers, feathers, branch, hanging budvases, jewels, and a garland with faux floral lights.

We alternated two sets of table arrangements. We used antique rusted Urns with green Hydrangea, blue Delphinium, rust Lilies, Spider Mums, purple Stock, Mango Calla Lilies, eggplant Carnations, and Peacock feathers.

In the black ceramic Squares we used eggplant Carnations, rust Lilies, Spider Mums, green Hydrangea, blue Delphinium, purple Stock, feathers and moss balls.

The Bride liked the idea of mixing Magenta and Teal. For the Brides Bouquet we used Stars of Bethlehem, ivory Stock, green Parrot Tulips, dark wine Peonies, dark red Garden Roses, purple Anemone, Mango Calla Lilies, rust Yarrow with Peacock feathers and jewels. I wrapped the bouquet in teal ribbon with a corset style magenta overlay.

The Maid of Honor had similar flowers to the Bride with teal ribbon and magenta pins.

Round Hill House - November

This wedding was at Round Hill House. We alternated three sets of table arrangements. You all know we love to alternate. Here are Bubble Bowls again (see how diverse they are?). It is fun to do the arrangements inside the bowls (something we got from England) and then it is also nice to do arrangements that are more traditional as well. For these we used green/burgundy Hydrangea, coral colored Peony, green/ white Parrot Tulips, cream/white Kale, white Cymbidium Orchids, ivory Roses, Mango Calla Lilies and Ivy. Each table had a large Bubble Bowl with three small ones. In each small Bubble Bowl was a Cymbidium Orchid, Ivy and milk – yes, milk.

The other table design had a pillar candle set on a glass plate with a mix of Calla Lilies, Peonies, Cymbidium Orchids, Snap Dragons, Tiger tail Orchids, Quicksand Roses, baby blue Delphinium, purple Stock, and Ivy. The third set had multiple glass and candles.

Sweetheart Table

I really liked the Bouquets a lot. I was so excited that I could alternate really cool ribbon. For the Brides Bouquet we used coral Peonies, dark burgundy Calla Lilies, peach Stock, Quicksand & Cherry Brandy Roses, Anemones, rust Ranunculus, and wine colored Spider Mums. I added polka dot Guinea feathers and tied the Bouquet w/ black and white polka dot ribbon. I love how the feathers match the ribbon.

There were seven women in the Bridal party so I alternated striped and polka dotted ribbon.

The cocktail arrangements were in ceramic urns and squares. We used Kale, Roses, Hydrangea, Parrot Tulips, Calla Lilies, and Seeded Eucalyptus.

Since the wedding was in November, we set up the ceremony where the dance floor is located. We had two urns arrangements on either side on our handmade stands made by Richard Serra’s assistant. They had large Ferns, Belles of Ireland, Delphinium, Curly Willow, and Italian Ruscus. We also had aisle chair arrangements with Quicksand Roses, green Spider Mums, Tiger tail Orchids and Anemones.

Steve made a pretty display with Ferns, blue Delphinium, peach Snap Dragons, Mango calla Lilies, Curly Willow and Italian Ruscus.

The Garrison - last of the season

This couple is in the military and got married at the Garrison November 12th. It was a small simple wedding. The colors the Bride wanted for the reception were blue, silver with whites, and cream. We alternated Bubble Bowls and Cylinders. What is nice about those containers as they lend themselves to any flowers, style, and colors.

The Bride wanted her bouquet to have red and white Roses. We suggested she pick more of one color then the other so the look would not be too “polka dot”. Since silver was part of her color scheme I thought it would be nice to use silver Brunia to tie the colors together. Then I added some Guinea feathers and jewels. It turned out nice and sexy. The Bride wanted her Bridal party to have white flowers. For the Maid of Honor we used white Stock, white Roses, silver Brunia, ivory feathers, and jewels. Brides Maids had white Stock, white Lisianthus, and white Snap Dragons.

Onteora Mountain House last Wedding of 2010

What a great season we had at Onteora Mountain House. I am so sad it is over. We did the first wedding of the season on May 1st (check out the Blog post) and we were fortunate enough to finish the season, which ended on October 30th.

I was so happy for the couple because the weather was pretty nice and there were still colorful leaves on the trees that I know meant a lot to the Bride and Groom.
During this season, we have had the pleasure of working with Jeremy Hudler who handles all aspects of the weddings there. (check out his Onteora Blog posts http://onteoramthouse.blogspot.com/).
Wow is he an ambitious person. He may be young but he is mature, driven, intelligent, and sweet. Steve and I have been very impressed by his professionalism and easygoing nature. He is certainly an added bonus to an already amazing place.

I took photos of the Bouquets outside the Bridal suite. The Brides Bouquet had a mix of mini Sunflowers, orange Gerbera Daisies, dark burgundy Calla Lilies, burgundy Spider Mums, yellow and burgundy Button Mums, red Hypericum Berries, dark red Ranunculus and peach Stock.

Brides Bouquet

The Maid of Honor Bouquet had Sunflowers, peach Stock, red Hypericum Berries, dark red Ranunculus, and burgundy Calla Lilies. The Bride asked me to use extra fabric from their dresses to tie the Bouquets.

Steve made Posies for two sisters with extra flowers he had. There was peach Stock, Sunflowers, burgundy Calla Lilies, and Button Mums.

A Junior Brides Maid carried a pretty Pomander made from Button Mums. It is really sweet.

Here we have two Corsages, one pinned and one wrist.

The Groom

The Ceremony area had an Arch covered with Sunflowers as well as aisle chair arrangements.

The couple wanted their Registration table to look like a “forest floor”. Steve used Moss, tree stumps, gourds, twig balls, and a Manzanita Tree. The couple put guest names on leaves.

Cocktail arrangements were in mini Pumpkins with Mums, Ivy, and Seeded Eucalyptus.

We alternated Wood Boxes, Bubble Bowls, and Cylinders.

There were mixtures of pumpkins and Gourds, Bittersweet, Ivy, Gerber daisies, Stock, Sunflowers, Yarrow, Mums, Calla Lilies and Hydrangea in all the tables.

Round Hill House - fall Wedding

This wedding was at Round Hill House, F.E.A.S.T Catering.
I was not able to come to the wedding location and take bridal photos so took photos of the Bouquets at our hone/ studio. Steve set up the tables with our assistant Eileen and I arrived later to take photos.

The Maid of Honor and Brides Maids Bouquets had wine colored Calla Lilies, peach Stock, red Mokara Orchids, rust Cymbidium Orchids, dark red Garden Roses, ivory Roses, Cherry Brandy Roses, and Billy Balls.

For the photo of Brides Bouquet, I had Steve hold it as it cascades and is hard to photograph while resting. I think it is a really nice one; and is an example of a cascading bouquet custom to fit the size of a bride. For her Bouquet Steve used dark red Garden Roses, dark red Mokara Orchids, ivory Roses, peach Stock, Billy Balls, Bittersweet, and Varigated Ivy.

We alternated tables using square glass and tall cylinders. The square arrangements had peach Stock, Cherry Brandy Roses, red Mokara Orchids, dark pink Peonies, wine colored Calla Lilies, dark red Garden Roses, Billy Balls, and Ivy.

Overview

The three Cylinders had a mix of Calla Lilies, Roses, and Peonies.

There was a long Head Table behind the Sweetheart Table. Steve used multiple budvases with Roses, Calla Lilies, Peonies, Ivy, and Bittersweet.

The couples Sweetheart Table was pretty. Steve used Peonies, Orchids, Roses, Bittersweet, Calla Lilies, Ivy, and Billy Balls. I loved how he cascaded the Calla Lilies, Bittersweet, and Ivy. It Mimicked the Brides Bouquet.

French style Garden Gift arrangement

We used pink Peony, Black Baccara Roses, Hydrangea, yellow Freesia, peach Ranunculus, Bittersweet, Orchids and Ivy in a clay Urn. I feel the need to show you a few angles :) I just can't help it as every angle has something a little different.

The Garrison - Fall Wedding

This wedding was on Sunday at the Garrison. Again, we had beautiful weather even better than Saturday. I also believe this weekend to be the peak of foliage.

In the Brides Bouquet we used dark red Ranunculus, rust Roses, green/burgundy Hydrangea, burgundy Dahlia’s, Lady’s Mantle, purple Anemones, dark burgundy Calla Lilies, Cherry Brandy Roses, ivory Stock, two sizes of Brunia and lots of branch. Even the stems of the bouquet were wrapped with branch. I think this was really interesting and cool.

For the Maid of Honor we used rust Roses, wine Ranunculus, rust Mokara Orchids, ivory Stock, Bittersweet and Brunia.

The Brides Maids Bouquet had two types of Brunia and Seeded Eucalyptus.

The Mom’s Posies had Cherry Brandy and Quicksand Roses, Bittersweet, wine colored Ranunculus and ivory Stock.

The Groom’s Boutonnière had Brunia, red Ranunculus, burgundy Dahlia, Seeded Eucalyptus and a burgundy Calla Lily.

We alternated the centerpieces using a Birds Nest and an English style Cloche. For the nest we used green/ burgundy Hydrangea, green Hypericum berries, peach Stock, burgundy Dahlia’s, Lisianthus, green Cymbidium Orchids and Spanish Moss.

In the Cloches, we used purple Kale, blue Hydrangea, rust Orchids, burgundy Dahlias, Lisianthus, green Hypericum berries, lavender Cosmos and Okra. The Mother of the Bride made the gorgeous place card holders out of Acorns - check them out. We love these and plan to make them ourselves for next year’s fall weddings.

Onteora Mountain House Fall Wedding

On this day, the weather started windy dark and dramatic, great for photos but not for a wedding. It was really touch and go for a while. The nice thing about Onteora is the fact that it is so beautiful even with inclement weather. If the weather happens to be bad, you can get married in the pavilion, which still feels like it is outside. As the day went on it got nicer and nicer. Don’t want to jinx anyone by this statement but it almost never rains on our Onteora weddings.

I really love the colors of these fall Bouquets. For the Brides Bouquet we used ivory Stock, purple Mokara Orchids, Cherry Brandy Roses, wine colored Calla Lilies, and wine colored Ranunculus, Hypericum berries, purple Anemone and magenta Cosmos.

The Maid of Honor’s Bouquet had purple Stock, baby blue Delphinium, purple Anemone, wine Calla Lilies, purple Lisianthus, Quicksand Roses and Hypericum berries.

We alternated the tables using two types of Urns and multiple pieces of glass.

The black ceramic Urns had purple Mokara Orchids, purple Stock, purple Lisianthus and Ivy with a metal cage.

The other Urn had purple Mokara Orchids, lavender Stock, blue Hydrangea, yellow Celosia, burgundy Hypericum berries and Ivy.

The table with Multiple Glass had Okra, blue Hydrangea, baby blue Delphinium and green Parrot Tulips.

I love these cocktail arrangements. They had purple kale, rust Cymbidium Orchids, green Hypericum berries and green Parrot Tulips.

For the Junior Brides Maid Bouquet Steve used blue Hydrangea, purple Lisianthus, wine colored Calla Lilies, yellow Celosia and baby blue Delphinium.

Mom's Posy

For the aisle chair arrangements, we used yellow Celosia, magenta Cosmos, purple Lisianthus and wine Calla Lilies.

After the wedding, I stopped by the Reservoir again and took a drive to take more photos of our Hudson Valley Life.

Locust Grove and Vassar Chapel

It has been a fun switch into autumn weddings. The weather for the most part has been nice.

I wasn’t able to go to this wedding so I took a few photos of the bouquets and a centerpiece. Our assistant Amanda took the rest. I am interested to see the professional photographer’s photos and as always, I will post them once we get them.

The Brides Bouquet had shades of orange, rust, yellow, green and peach. We used orange Roses, orange Dahlia, peach Stock, Billy Balls, Mango Calla Lilies, rust Ranunculus, Fiddlehead Ferns and Scented Geranium. For a personal touch, the Bride sent us a locket with her Grandparents’ photos.

The Maid of Honor had similar flowers to the bride.

The Brides Maids had more yellow. For the Brides Maids we used peach Stock, yellow Freesia, Lady’s Mantle, Billy Balls, Mango Calla Lilies, orange Roses, rust Roses, orange Dahlia’s and Bittersweet.
The ceremony took place at Vassar’s chapel. It looked old with lots of dark wood. Steve did two alter arrangements and hung pretty Pew flowers.

The table arrangements were really pretty. We used burgundy Dahlias, ivory Stock, cranberry Hypericum berries, Seeded Eucalyptus, green Hydrangea, vines and Bittersweet in a black ceramic square.

The cocktail tables had combinations of orange Dahlias, dark burgundy Calla Lilies, orange and rust Roses, Lady’s Mantle, Ivy, rust and dark burgundy Ranunculus.

For the Buffet table Steve used Belles of Ireland, Ivy, James Story Orchids, and Curly Willow.
